Looking for reliable historical FX data online can be very difficult. Although it can usually be downloaded through most brokers’ APIs, unless you are a developer, accessing it is not feasible. This is why we’ve created a simple tool to do it for you. The Price Data Tool will allow you to connect with your demo or live API enabled account at FXCM and download historical data for any of the symbols available through your account.
Having access to better quality data can give you more confidence in the accuracy of your trading models and analysis.
This information can be used with many platforms like MT4, MT5, NinjaTrader or even just to run a simple spreadsheet analysis.
The instruments and timeframes available will depend on what’s available with your broker on the account you use to connect, but in most cases, you will find:
- Currency pairs including majors and exotics.
- Prices for metals and other commodities.
- Standard timeframes 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, daily, weekly and monthly.
- Open, High, Low, Close prices including Bid/Ask and volume.
VARIABLES
Username – specifies the login you use for your account
Password – the password you use for your trading account
Instrument – select the symbol you will be downloading data for
Timeframe – select the time frame you will be downloading data for
Start – select the date to start downloading data from
End – select the end date to get data to
